Our Commercial solar division brings together a superior group of experts in solar technology, electrical engineering, construction, finance and project management. They'll work with you to design and engineer a solar system that's custom tailored for your particular needs, and can manage the project through financing options and PPA agreements. Commercial Sales Director

Tyson’s career in solar began in the financial industry. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in Economics from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1996, Tyson spent nine years at the Pacific Stock Exchange specializing in equity options. He distinguished himself there as “market maker.”

Project Developer

John specializes in commercial sales and large projects. He graduated with honors from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Environmental Studies where he focused on green building. He fine-tuned his skills as a carpenter for a green construction company in the Santa Cruz mountains before joining Marin Solar in 2004.

Commercial Sales Engineer

Stu Davis graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2002 with a Bachelor’s of Science in mechanical engineering. As an avid surfer, Stu’s passion for the outdoors ran deep, and he knew he wanted to apply his engineering background in a career that would continue to protect the environment he so cherished. Stu found that career in solar energy was the answer.

Commercial Sales Engineer

Chris has been an advocate for responsible stewardship for more than 18 years, 8 of which are solar specific. With a B.S. from U.C. Berkeley in Conservation Resource Studies, Chris has always been interested in renewable energy and sustainable resources. After getting his start in solar thermal, Chris wanted to expand into the possibilities of solar electricity. He learned the ropes of system design and installation from a local Marin installer, and joined Marin Solar in 2006.

Commercial Field Superintendent

Trevor Guthrie is a certified general electrician who found Real Goods Solar through a trusted friend and colleague he had worked with for many years, our own Dan Williams--operations manager for Real Goods Solar’s North Bay office. After working with Dan at two previous companies, and with a growing curiosity about the solar industry, Trevor was directed to meet with installers to learn more about how electrical connections work in solar energy systems.
