Jason Cotter is a solar power consultant and solar designer who has been helping Real Goods customers create their own solar electricity in Mendocino, Marin, and Sonoma Counties since 2003. Jason has lived primarily in Sonoma County since 1971, and takes pride in the fact that, with every installed solar system comes a definitive reduction to the environmental footprint imposed on the earth by modern society, as well as a reduction in the need to import foreign energy.

Jennie has always had a deep love for the environment, as evidenced by her tireless work in the fields of nature conservation and renewable energy. Prior to joining Real Goods Solar, Jennie supported the efforts of RECON Environmental Inc. where she wrote and compiled environmental impact reports. Realizing that such work was primarily “reactionary” in terms of protecting the environment, Jennie sought out a more “proactive” approach to her work. And she found it in solar.
Peter Kalenak started out his career in the manufacturing industry, with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design. As Peter puts it, he decided one day that he’d much prefer to work in a field that produced clean energy rather than one that consumed massive amounts of energy. With that, Peter began making in-roads into the renewable energy sector.
Mike was born and raised in southern California. He worked in the construction industry for many years and has a thorough understanding of all the various aspects of building construction including electrical, framing, and roofing. Mike has always been interested in sustainable business and environmental issues. He worked with EcoTimber, one of the first companies to sell certified sustainable lumber. In 2005, Mike became interested in solar and decided to install a system on his home.
Steve Rogers is a long-time veteran supporter of solar technology. He serves as the operations manager for the Hopland and Santa Rosa offices of Real Goods Solar, and has worked in the solar industry for the past 22 years (17 of those years with Real Goods Solar). Steve makes solar a part of his total reality, having equipped his home with a 4.7kW DC grid intertie system utilizing 28 Sharp Solar 167 watt modules and a Fronius IG 5000 watt inverter—enough to take care of his complete energy needs.
Phil Henley is a certified California electrician with over 24 years of commercial, industrial, and residential construction experience focused on providing electrical services to clients. With an interest in renewable energy, Phil decided to apply his electrical backround to supporting the solar services of Real Goods Solar.
Kelly Reed is an eco-friendly guy at heart. “Solar just seemed like a natural choice for me,” says Kelly. Having had a friend who was with Real Goods Solar for nearly a decade, Kelly heard all about the company and it’s great reputation and decided to put his operations skills to work in the service of solar.
