Independent Energy Systems specializes in the design, installation and sales of solar energy systems for residential and commercial properties in the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay area.

The knowledgeable and professional design and installation team at IES is led by five NABCEP certified Solar Photovoltaic Installers™. They have many years of design and building experience and are experts in On-Grid and Remote Off-Grid solar systems, ranging from Residential to Large Commercial projects.

IES is consistently recognized by industry leaders as installing the best quality solar electric systems in the country. Selected by SunPower as a Premier Dealer, technical staff training partner, product beta tester, and their west coast installation partner for the US DOE’s Solar America Initiative. IES is also recognized as an active community leader. They are personally involved in the community through volunteering time in the solar schools program, community events, and 4-H at the county fair. They are members and supporters of the US Green Building Council – Monterey Bay Committee. In the larger “world community” they are a member and generous supporter of the Pachamama Alliance, which is working in Ecuador to support the indigenous peoples’ protection of the rainforest.
